FAQ - Handbag Hire HQ

How do I join Handbag Hire HQ?
It's simple and quick! Click on our Sign Up page and enter all your details.  We accept payment by credit card or PayPal. We can also join members by telephone.
 
How much does it cost?
Membership is 7.50 per month. Members then select the bag they would like to hire and the hire length, either weekly or monthly and pay the amount detailed for each bag.  Weekly and monthly prices are listed on each bag's detail page. 
 
Are all the bags authentic?
Yes, all our bags are 100% authentic designer pieces.  We buy from carefully selected sources and can provide receipts if requested.  We despatch our bags with authenticity cards, where provided by the designers (please note that not all fashion houses include authenticity cards).
 
Can I reserve a bag?
Yes, we have a Waiting List.  Simply email us the name of the bag, the date you would like it to arrive and the length of hire you would like and we will put you on the list, subject to availability. We will email you to advise you the bag is reserved on the Waiting List, or if it is not available we will let you know that too.  On our website, you will notice some bags have the additional detail "Monthly/Fortnightly/Weekly Hire currently unavailable" - this is where a bag has been reserved on our Waiting List for a date in the near future, but there is time for a shorter-term hire in the meantime.
 
How often do you update your range?
We have made a committment to our members to extend our Collection by one or two bags per month.  If members are seeking a particular bag we encourage them to contact us on enquiries@handbaghirehq.co.uk with details of the bag and we will do our utmost to purchase the bag for our collection.
 
What happens if a hired bag is damaged or stolen?
While we hope that all members treat our bags as if they were their own, we have to take precautions in case unforeseen damage or loss occurs.  To cover ourselves for this we always take a credit or debit card number as part of our security checks and we reserve the right to charge the card if the bag fails to return or is damaged, also, on occasion, to pre-authorise an amount agreed with the member before the bag is sent out, as a deposit and at our discretion. 
If slight damage has occurred which is repairable we will only charge for the repair.  We have never had to implement this procedure to date and hope that it will continue to be unnecessary.  We respectfully request that members call us immediately should any issue arise.
 
How does the Acquire function work?
Members can click on the Acquire link on any of our bags for the option to buy the rental bag (we will assess the price based on age, number of hires, popularity, rarity, etc).  The Acquire link opens up an email, allowing the member to contact us for prices.  Please note that we offer the Acquire service to members only.
 
Do you only ship to the UK?
We also ship to the EU.
 
How much are delivery charges?
We charge 9.95 to include delivery and collection then return to Handbag Hire HQ for members in the UK.  Members in Ireland and the EU pay 9.95 for delivery but meet their own costs for returning the bag to us (this is because a pre-paid return service is currently unavailable outside the UK).  We use Royal Mail Special Delivery, which delivers by 1.00pm the following day and insures the bag in-transit.  We chose Royal Mail Special Delivery because, if our member is not able to receive the delivery, the postman will leave a card  and the member can then rearrange delivery or collect it from the post office.  When returning the bag, the member takes it to their local post office at their convenience.
